I first met with Rick (QPS) in 2006, from one of his seminars. I was looking to put my money into something financially beneficial. I purchased my first property in the early part of that year, at the same time preparing to deploy overseas. Rick and the team understood the situation and he handled all the details to ensure the dwelling was built. I was that satisfied with the level of service, on return to Australia I purchased my second investment property.

As a new arrival in Australia I found the property investment market a bit confusing. QPS was recommended to me by people I trust and I found them to be an open and honest organization with a clear vision of their product and how it fits into the circumstances pertaining to Defence personnel.
After only a few meetings they managed to de-mystify the entire process and offered me a clear investment strategy which made sense. They remained engaged with me throughout, from the organization of finance through to finalizing property management and always offered sound advice. I have had no hesitation in recommending them to friends and colleagues and consider them to be an example of "best practice" in a competitive and often unscrupulous arena.

Josh and I had heard lots of good things about QPS from friends who are also QPS clients and decided to check you out. We went on to purchase a property and we couldn't be happier with the result. QPS made the process smooth from start to finish, from the initial information session, to finance, to legal assistance and finally the Real Estate agent.
We currently have two sets of friends, both of whom own a number of properties each with QPS, who are happy with their investments and gave QPS a resounding vote of confidence. The extensive research that has gone into the areas that you offer property in is beyond reproach and our own research only confirmed and enhanced the research that you have already done. Rick, and Daren, are always available to answer any questions that we may have had along the way. You always give a straight answer to any question asked over the past twelve months and our respect for your business dealings has grown.
We believe that as Rick is an ex soldier, he thoroughly understands the unique challenges that are faced in Defence. He ensures that the entire process is stress and worry free. He personally liaises on any issue we have had with our property which has given us peace of mind, this is very important as Josh is often away for work. Thanks to Rick's guidance, we are now a step closer to our dream lifestyle.
We would have no hesitation at all in recommending the services of QPS to anyone who is interested in property investment. We also would have no problem in discussing our dealings with QPS with any new potential investors. In fact we are hoping that in the next twelve months we may purchase another investment property through QPS ourselves.

I deployed on OP ASTUTE in 2006 at age 22. Knowing I would have some money on my return, I looked seriously at the Townsville real-estate market prior to the deployment. The huge figures involved and the large, legal process which I would have to tackle on my own scared me. On return to Australia I sought financial advice through two financial advisors in Townsville who were qualified to advise across both shares and real-estate. I had $25,000 in the bank and no knowledge of investing. The advice I received from both parties was to put my $25,000 into managed funds and expect a 15% return (less then $3,000 PA after fees).
My unit hosted a presentation by Rick O'Shea in which he clearly outlined the Pro's and Con's of Shares, Real-estate and Cash investments. This presentation alone gave me a better understanding on investments then the prior meetings with Financial Advisors who just showed me figures. I was still concerned that this was just another bloke keen to take my money. What changed my mind was the fact that the CO, OCs and WOs of the unit all had a number of properties with Rick and personally asked him to provide the unit with a financial presentation.
I must admit, I still had doubts about real-estate. My decision to buy a property was not based on the figures presented to me; instead, it was due to trusting what the older, senior members of the unit had done.
Now, two and a half years later, I own two properties and am looking towards my third in the next financial year. This is a vast contrast to the financial advisors' recommendations which would have seen me currently only having an additional $7,500 (assuming the stock market didn't crash in 2008).
I cannot emphasise enough how easy QPS makes purchasing a property. They have a proven system that sorts out everything including: legal requirements, mortgages, rental management and tax issues. All you have to do is sign the paperwork they send you. This is a huge benefit given the nature of defence jobs, not allowing you much time to spend hours researching loans, reading legal docs and playing with house designs.
From my experience, the hardest thing is to convince yourself to trust someone enough to take the initial plunge into debt. As such, I am happy to discuss my experiences with QPS with anyone.

My Family has been dealing with Rick since 1999 and have purchased five properties through him and QPS. He always gives me a straight answer to my questions and over the years my respect for Rick and his business dealings has grown.
As an ex Soldier he understands the challenges we face in our employment. He will liaise on any issue on my behalf with our properties which gives peace of mind if I am away out bush or on deployment. Thanks to Rick's guidance, I am now able to afford a great lifestyle!! My 21 year old son who is also a Soldier is now in the process of investing in his second property with QPS.

It saddens me to think of the missed opportunities that Defence personnel will now not be made aware of due to the ADF ensuring we only receive a mind numbing brief from the Financial Services Consumer Council. With the amount of deployments by all services throughout the ADF at a constant, the benefits of using your Operational pay to purchase an Investment Property should be paramount with todays economic situation.
I was fortunate enough to go down this road at the start of 2007 due to my deployment to Timor Leste and have not looked back since. The assistance that I was given from the financial services to the building of the property to the tenants moving in took a lot of stress from myself and I am forever grateful.
Having spent 3 years at a Townsville unit I was lucky enough to be a part of the sponsorship that QPS provided to the Units functions such as Family Days, Cocktail Nights and the running teams. I know of more than a handful of people who have purchased Property through QPS just from this one Unit during their time there.
I hope that Defence sees the error that they have made and decides to change what they have done, not just for QPS and other investment services given the time to show us this great opportunity but, for all Defence Force personnel to see that Property Investment is such a great chance to set yourself and your family up for life.
